Learning at Home
This page is a collection of hints gleamed from trying to help my own children.
All parents are involved in their childrens’ education whether they fully home educate or not. There are subjects I delegate to others to tutor my children: swimming, woodwork, music… but even in these subjects I am very much involved and it is the same for parents of children in full time “school”. So if you are not homeschooling do not think these pages do not apply to you! I learned to read one summer with the aid of my Granny, having not learned to read at school. That summer she also planted a vegetable garden with me which has resulted in a life time love of growing plants. Do not underestimate your influence even if you can only eke out a little time.
The most wonderful thing about learning at home is you can choose methods, books, styles that suit you and each one of your children.
